Terry Bussenger

Vice President/Licensed Insurance Representative

Terry grew up in Frankenmuth, Mi. and quickly learned the value of money, having worked landscape jobs and residential construction during summers in High School and College. He was a scholarship athlete at Northwood Institute, (now Northwood University) playing football all four years. Terry moved with his parents to Illinois after graduating college where he began a career in commercial sub-contracting. Later, Terry was a Project Manager/Estimator for Pepper Construction and RG Construction. He dedicated over 20 years to all facets of construction. Lisa began working in the ‘retirement planning’ field in 1998 shortly after her father passed. She works with both individuals and families in the areas of Retirement and Estate Planning.

Due to the 2008 financial crisis Terry was forced to re-invent his career. He decided the valuable lessons he uncovered both in business and personal finance during the crisis, should be used to benefit others in financial education and wealth counsel. In 2011 he joined his wife Lisa in her growing and evolving wealth management firm; Bussenger Financial Group.

Terry incorporates years of experience working with business owners and individuals in crafting solid blueprints for homes and businesses, often the largest investment of their lives. This approach directly correlates to business and personal financial planning.

Terry delivers a forward approach and understands the importance and value of money before and during retirement. Just like growing up in Michigan, Terry believes in simplicity – “there is no need to be confusing”.

Terry has been married to Lisa for 35 years and they have three wonderful children, Kyle, Nicole and Brock. Terry enjoys being in theOutdoors, hunting, fishing and boating are his passion outside of work.
